Cons: Tricky and limited customization (you can only make changes to headers, fonts, colors, widgets, plug-ins without an expert), you have to be able to figure out how to deal with CSS code), easily hacked (you have to keep up with the latest patches), easily spammed, below average SEO (can be improved upon by adding plug-ins)
Cost-wise: It’s free! You can buy a good template for $35- $100. But since, customization is tricky, you will have to hire an expert if you want to make a lot of changes to your template.
