Cons: tricky customization, native code and template layouts; trouble getting clean, table free semantic code, code demands a lot of server resources, most of the add-ons are commercial and hence, expensive; the system can become very complex, poor for SEO, it’s not easy to set up a Joomla! based website.

Cost-wise: Joomla! is free, but most of its modules/plug-ins are commercial and if you are planning for designing your company website using Joomla! seek an expert or invest in appropriate components to make it more robust.
